Who We Serve: Any child, teen, or adult who is grieving the loss of a loved one, regardless of circumstances. We partner with schools, criminal justice agencies, civic and service organizations, businesses, churches and other community groups. We cross-refer with over 150 community agencies to ensure that we can meet the broad range of needs grieving families may have. Our services are open and available to Austin and all of Central Texas, with group locations across the Austin area and in Williamson County.
How Our Services Work: Our services are free to grieving people, for as long as they need them, and open to anyone ages 5 and up – regardless of nature of loss, income, or any other circumstances. We offer peer-based, loss-specific grief support groups for children, teens, and adults. (i.e., loss of a child, spouse, or any other significant relationship). Groups are facilitated by extensively trained facilitators and supervised by a licensed social worker. We also offer special groups that serve victims and family members of violent crime and suicide. Always advocates for the needs of grieving people, we also provide outreach and education on grief and issues facing the bereaved for schools, businesses, churches, community organizations and allied professionals.
